A Few of My Favs from 2015

2015 was a great year!

Here’s to 2016! Call now to book your date!

Sammy! You made me smile from the first time I met you!

I met Sammy when he was 8, 9 or 10, oh, I can’t remember exactly.  But I remember he was full of energy and driving his mother crazy. You see it was his brother’s bar mitzvah day and Sammy was having nothing to do with family pictures.  In fact I believe his exact words were “NO, NO, NO”. And he meant it.  After letting Sammy take a few pics with my “big fancy camera”, he warmed up to me and actually let me make some images of him with the family.  He was cutting up and just making me laugh.  He simply kept me entertained the whole night.  Every time I’d see him after that, I would say to myself…”I love that kid”! So you can imagine how happy I was when his mother ask me to photograph his bar mitzvah, and even happier to have his mom call me for his senior portraits too.  And yep, I’m holding out for his wedding (though he need not be in a rush!).

Here are a few pics from Sammy’s Senior session.

say Hello to Marie!

I first met Marie at a wedding.  That’s right, she walked down the aisle just like any other attendant at a wedding.  Marie is the bride’s seeing eye dog.  I’m not sure what makes a good seeing eye dog, but all I know is Marie is very sweet, social and obedient. So last week I got the chance to photograph her again.  She really is good at posing for sure; makes my job so easy.

I don’t know much about Yoga either, but Marie obviously does; she is showing off her skills for me.  Well after all, her mommy does teach yoga class and Marie goes with her to every class!

Enjoy the pics of Marie!

Senior Portrait Session

I couldn’t believe it when Laurie emailed me and asked if I could photograph Rachel’s senior portrait…when did that happen? It seems like just yesterday I photographed her bat mitzvah.  We decided to meet at Faust Park.  And well, it was one of the hottest days of the year.  While I was sweating bullets, Rachel was calm and cool.  She made my job easy with her posing and smiles…and her fun ideas of course.  Since Rachel plays the Viola, she brought it along too.  Now that I think about it, I should have had her play me a song or two.

Enjoy the images of Rachel’s and stay tuned for the other Berwald sisters, they will be coming close behind.

Family Portraits

Remember when I photographed Sam’s homecoming? Can you believe that was almost 2 months ago?

Well the Bergson’s had another big weekend.  Sam got baptized at The Gathering over the weekend.  It seems only fitting that his whole family would come.  He had his grandparents and an aunt and an uncle come for his big day.  We all got together Saturday morning (the hottest day of the summer so far) in Lafayette Square Park and we created some family portraits while everyone was in town.

Both Sam and small Paul did great, even though a picture day was not their idea of fun. We made it as quick and painless as possible, and had a little fun too.

Enjoy a few from the session.

Thoughtfully Dressed…

Need help deciding what to wear for your family portrait, your daughter’s wedding and your son’s bat mitzvah.  Krissi can help!  She can help you buy new clothes or use the ones you have so that the whole family is coordinated. That is that she did for the Hopping family.  And they look awesome! She took pieces they already had in their closet and matched them so that the colors in our portrait session flowed nicely.  Everyone got to maintain a bit of themselves, yet there were no clashing colors.  Nate is a bow tie man, and Eleonore, she loves whales; so of course they wanted to wear something that represented who they are as individuals.  They were able to do just that with Krissi’s help!  I can’t wait to work with her again; she helped make our session a huge visual success!

Meredith, Nate, Eleonore and Francesca…

Family portraits are one of my favorites and perfect for a Mother’s Day weekend gig. The Hoppings are a beautiful family. I’m not talking about outer beauty, I’m talking inner beauty here. They LOVE G_d! And the best part, they seem to love every person they meet too. They are kind, sincere and compassionate people…Oh and man, can they sing!

Eleonore cracked me up with her ‘say cheese, say peas and carrots’. She is going to keep everyone laughing, I can tell. Her sister Frankie, well she doesn’t need Elie’s help with anything right now but I’m betting they are going to be very close sisters.

I truly enjoyed the short time we spent together. I love the photographs too. I am having a hard time deciding which ones I like best…

If you like their pics, let em’ know. Leave a comment on the blog.  And if you want a family portrait session too, contact me to set up your appointment. As a matter of fact I have one opening left for next Sunday at 4:00.

Happy New Year from Kristi Foster Photography, Inc.

What a great year Kristi Foster Photography, Inc has had! New clients, new website and even a new blog.

Thank you to all my supportive clients and friends!

What’s in store for 2014? I am hoping to get this blogging stuff down and get more out there. I also plan to take a few continuing education classes, just to keep sharp (see what I did there?) on my photography skills. I will be working on expanding weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs into North Carolina and I’m hoping to schedule some of those near or on the beach! I might even be able to get a photo workshop trip in too….I’m thinking Tuscany, at least that is my hope anyway.

Whew, that’s an ambitious 2014, but I’m ready and excited!

Enjoy a few of my favorite images from 2013….

Don’t forget to follow my blog!

And please don’t keep me a secret share my newsletter, my website and my name with your family and friends.  I LOVE new clients!

Everyone loves Henry! {St. Louis Outdoor Family Photographer}

You have already seen the sneak peek, now are you ready for some more?

Henry is one of the happiest kids I know.  He and his parents live in my building, and I love hearing his giggles out in the hall, when they are letting Henry run around.  Jackson and Hope like to visit with him too!

We had a great day for a family portrait session out at Forest Park; not too cold and still some fall leaves.  At Henry’s age I expected him to give us about 15 minutes before he would ‘be over’ all the sitting and smiling for the camera but he let us hang out for abour 45 minutes.  While he wasn’t real sure about this huge black thing in his face that kept flashing every few minutes, he did have fun and smiled a lot (OK and he cried once) too!

So enjoy a few more pics of Henry and his mom and dad.  If you like their photographs, leave them a comment to let them know.  And hey, share the link with your friends who may need family portraits too; let them will know where to find me!
