Join the “Hope for Seniors” Photo Exhibit in July 2025

We are excited to announce the upcoming photo exhibit Hope for Seniors – Legacy Pet Portraits by St. Louis based photographer Kristi Foster. The show will be exhibited at The Gallery at University City Library with the proceeds being donated to St. Louis Senior Dog Project. SLSDP is a 100% volunteer-run local 501c3 that specializes in the placement of senior pets, but works tirelessly to ensure the safe and happy placement of every pet that enters into their care.

Kristi Foster is known not just for her stunning photography but also for her strong dedication to using her talents to help pet rescues, particularly senior pet rescues. From the many rescue pets she has welcomed into her studio for adoption “glamour shots” to her own rescue pup, Ollie, Kristi has seen firsthand the transformation that can occur when a rescued pet is given the chance to find their person and evolve from a terrified shell to a bubbly, confident, happy family pet.

Kristi’s passion for rescue animals started with her first rescue soulmate—Hope, a flat-coated retriever adopted from the Humane Society. After being a wonderful companion for 16 years, Hope crossed the rainbow bridge and it was in dealing with this deep sense of loss that Kristi decided to honor Hope’s memory by forming the foundation Hope for Healing”. Through the foundation, Pet Legacy Portraits are provided for human companions of aged and terminally ill pets. These photographs not only help hearts heal during a time of loss, but also serve as a beautiful and timeless reminder of the bond that exists between pets and their human companions.

In conjunction with this upcoming exhibition, Kristi is expanding the idea behind Hope for Healing and offering a unique opportunity for people to participate in the show by having a custom legacy portrait of their pet featured in this photo exhibit. All rescue pets are welcome, but the Hope is to fill the show with the wise eyes of our lovable seniors.

The show is scheduled for July 2025 and space is limited. All sessions need to be booked and completed by 5/1/2025 to allow time for printing and framing. Each participant will contribute a $390 donation to have their pet featured in the exhibit. Since participants will then be taking the 16 x 20 framed portrait home after the end of the show, this would make a wonderful holiday gift for the pet lover in your life. It is truly a gift that keeps on giving.
